(WORKSHOP)

BUILDING BETTER CONNECTIONS & UNLOCKING POTENTIAL

Parenting and caregiving can be incredibly rewarding, but it also comes with unique challenges—especially when caring for young people who have experienced trauma or disadvantage. Maintaining emotional resilience, navigating tough conversations, and building lasting trust can feel overwhelming.

This half-day workshop is designed specifically for parents, foster carers, and kinship carers. Facilitated by Shayne Hood, a renowned practitioner with over a decade of experience in social work, youth work, and community services, Shayne has worked extensively with families and carers navigating complex situations. His lived-experience approach and practical coaching style empower parents and carers with real-world strategies to strengthen connections and unlock potential in the young people they care for. Delivered with authenticity and respect, Shayne’s workshops are known for their honesty, relatability, and immediate relevance.

Attend the Training & Receive
Our
Training Booklet

Participants will receive a comprehensive booklet capturing all the key learnings from the session. This resource provides ongoing support, allowing you to revisit strategies, tools, and insights whenever needed.

Shayne has walked the walk, and can talk the talk. His communication style and language connects so well with the staff. While his content is steeped in proven frameworks, he has a way of making these easy to understand for practitioners who don't have a psychology degree. His sessions are heavy on the practical strategies and tools, rather than wishy washy, hard to understand theory. Every time my team completes one of his training sessions, they come out with lots of ideas of how we can improve and develop our practice and our program.
